I had the 2pc cod and fries. I had a bit of a drive to get it home but it was still warm and not soggy at all. I am not a fan of the coleslaw but the rest was so good. Want to try the halibut and maybe the chowder next time

SUPER CRISPY both fish and chips! Got the 9 piece, plus 5 for fries and coleslaw - feed three people for 30? Yes please! Super welcoming guy and gal when we visited, chef seems to genuinely care and wants to see people enjoy his food! We'll be back! PS - they have beer

Great hole in the wall fish and chips place. Not fancy but great food. I had the 4 piece cod and chips with chili mango and spicy mayo dips. The fish was cooked perfectly. Not rubbery or wet like some places. The fries were hot and crispy.

Staff was friendly and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious! I've been here twice now for the 4pc fish n chips, and it does not disappoint! Big fan of the tartar sauce! I'm definitely going back to try the tacos! After being highly recommended by staff and trying the slaw and mago salsa(which also go on the tacos), how could I not want to go back? Yum!

I had a craving for fish and chips on a recent road trip through Oregon. The Battered Fish and Chips in Salem showed up on my map. It is a little bit of a drive from the freeway, but I was willing to give them a try. The parking is shared with other businesses, so I don't know how it may be at peak times to find a spot to park. We had no problem. They have only a few tables inside and limited seating outside. We chose to eat inside. The lady taking our order was very pleasant and informative about helping us choose from their list of homemade dipping sauces. They have a large selection of fish and seafood on their menu, most of which appear to be deep-fried. Our order arrived quickly, and hot. The fish was moist and had a good flavor. We also tried the calamari and oysters. ( also tasted good ). It was worth the detour to stop here for lunch. I have added The Battered Fish and Chips restaurant to my list of favorite stops. We hope to be back next month and will probably eat here again!

Okay, I'm not sure I want to tell everybody how great this is because you'll all be coming and I'll have to wait longer! This place is just a little hole in the wall with a few tables. But, oh my gosh, the fish and prawns are out of this world! They have a variety of sauces ranging from typical to innovative and tasty Ginger lime yogurt sauce. The service was fast, friendly and accurate. The prices are also good. It's probably better to order food to go because it's such a small little place. But, no matter where you eat it it's some of the best fried seafood you can get anywhere.

If you're craving the best fish and chips in the valley, The Battered Fish & Chips on Commercial Street is the place to go. The quality is unmatched, and the price is just right. Unlike other places charging 20 or 25 for a plate, you can enjoy three perfectly battered cod fillets for under 13.50—without being forced to pay for fries and slaw you don’t want. The fish is battered to order with a light, crispy beer batter that’s full of flavor and incredibly tender. For the quality and value, there’s simply no competition. This spot is as good as any coastal joint, and when it comes to fish and chips, there’s no second choice. It's consistently top-notch and a fantastic protein-packed meal that won't break the bank. Also, when they offer the fresh beer-battered salmon, do not pass that one up because it's incredible for only 4 per piece.

This place Stopped in here with my mom to get fish n chips to bring back home for dinner and am so glad we did! We got the best food for six people and spent barely over 60. In this economy?! The fish was perfect and the fries were so crispy and just the way one would want them. The also have really good sauces! Their tartar sauce and coleslaw are AMAZING. Definitely drop in, you won't regret it!
